Bodyguard Ben Collins can't stop himself from being attracted to Daniel Lincoln, a contestant on a reality TV show he's working on. He feels there's something wrong with Daniel, though, and before they part ways, he gives his card to Daniel in case he finds himself in trouble. What Ben doesn't know is that Daniel's boyfriend has been abusing him for years and it isn't until another former contestant contacts Ben on Daniel's behalf that he finds out the extent of it.
I absolutely adored this story. I found it realistic and heart-wrenching, I felt so bad for all Daniel had to go through and his reactions before and after he was 'rescued' were spot-on, in my opinion. I loved Ben and the way he was drawn to Daniel, despite thinking he should be off-limits because he was a client, and still, he couldn't really not give into their attraction when it was just what they both needed and wanted. And Daniel just broke my heart, but at the same time, I could see how much he wanted to get better and be stronger and get over all that happened to him. I'm so loving Kyle and Ross, too, and really can't wait to read their story!
Very recommendable book and a great continuation to this fantastic series! Next book's review, Max and the Prince, will be coming in a week, so stay tuned!
