Buy The Book:

Lucas Green has lost his family, his sister murdered by Richard Shaw. Now the only thing he wants is revenge. When a friend gives him the card of a man who can possibly help him it gives him hope. Dante Okoro owns a sophisticated boutique sex shop but has a knack for planning intricate pranks and faux crimes as a sort of game. While he finds Lucas intriguing there is no way that he'll help the desperate man plan a murder.  After turning Lucas away he starts to worry that Lucas may come up with an alternative plan to kill Shaw and Dante becomes obsessed with watching over Lucas from a distance.

A mutual friend's death brings Dante and Lucas together again and as much as they have reservations about each other they can no longer deny an attraction. They both are full of lies and secrets and the closer they become they harder it is to keep hiding, Lucas's plans for revenge and Dante's stake in the outcome.

Okay, so there is really no easy way to put this so I'm just going to say it. This book was not at all for me. It was another that I so desperately wanted to love, the premise had so much potential, it just didn't pull through.  Firstly, it was extremely wordy. Really this story could have been shorter had the author not described so much unnecessary detail. It was filled with hyperbole and purple prose and there were many times I wanted to skim.

I didn't care for the characters in the way I had hoped, which in turn created a lack of connection, not just to the story itself but also to the characters.  Lucas was not what I'd hoped. I expected a tough Alpha type but that definitely wasn't him. Dante was a bit too back and forth for my taste. I didn't completely believe the attraction between him and Lucas.

This is not a book that I would probably run out to recommend but others may enjoy it.

3 Stars!
