Length: 62,000 words

Sam Holloway is a desperate man. Trapped in Dante’s, the high-class London brothel catering to men who love men, his only hope is to find a rich protector. Then he meets the young aristocrat with sad eyes.

Tristan Barrington, sixth earl of Chiltern, waited until the death of his father before acting on his unnatural desires. Dante’s has a reputation for quality and absolute discretion. He never expected to find in its sordid depths a glorious man who could master not only his body but his heart, as well.

In Tristan, Sam sees an opportunity to flee a life he hates, and he sets his sights on seducing the earl. Tristan vows to help him escape, but in the process not only uncovers the vile corruption at the heart of Dante’s but also suspects that Sam’s declaration of love was nothing but a lie.

Then Sam is gravely injured, and Tristan faces a tough decision -- leave Sam to his fate, or help him once again?

Companion book to The Wrong Kind of Angel but can be read as a standalone. HEA.

4 Stars!!!

Trapped is part of the same 'verse The Wrong Kind of Angel is, but can be read as a standalone. However, if you enjoy historical romances, The Wrong Kind of Angel is really good and the main characters appear in Trapped as well, so I suggest reading both books.

Sam's life went to hell after his father disowned him and he ended up being up to his ears in debt with Dante and having to work in his brothel to pay what he owes him. Added to that, Bill Moseley, Dante's manager, is obsessed with Sam and enjoys hurting him. The only good thing that has ever came out of working at Dante's is meeting the shy young man that has been coming to the brothel to see Sam three times a week. Sam is at the end of his rope, though, and desperate, he asks Tristan for his help to escape from Dante's, without knowing that Tristan is actually a Lord. Tristan is really fond of Sam and when Sam tells him he loves him, Tristan is more determined than ever to help Sam. Only, while Sam cares for Tristan, he doesn't love him, at least not then and when Tristan discovers his deception and Sam realizes the depth of his feelings for the young Lord, it might be too late for them, especially since Dante and Bill aren't too happy that Sam escaped and are willing to do anything to get him back.

I really liked Sam and Tristan and my heart broke when things went to hell in a handbasket when Tristan overheard Gareth saying Sam didn't love him. I loved that while Sam was desperate and asked for help, or inferred that he needed help, actually, he didn't really try to take advantage of Tristan and had the intention to pay Tristan back. Tristan might have gone a bit overboard with his reaction to Sam's 'deception', but it was understandable all things considered. However, he was there for Sam when he needed him and I think, despite the difference in their social standings, he never tried to make Sam feel less than him. They had great chemistry and I just loved seeing them fall for each other.

The suspense portion of the book, with them trying to escape from Dante and Bill Moseley was really good and there were enough twists and turns to keep me wondering what else Ruby Moone had in store for Sam, Tristan, Gareth and Alfie, who were amazing secondary characters.

All in all, Trapped was a really good, enjoyable historical romance suspense, with very likable main and secondary characters and a plotline that kept me thoroughly entertained! Very recommendable!

Author Bio

My name is Ruby Moone and I love books. All kinds of books. My weakness is for romance, and that can be any kind, but I am particularly fond of historical and paranormal. I decided to write gay romance after reading some fantastic books and falling in love with the genre, so am really thrilled to have my work published here. The day job takes up a lot of my time, but every other spare moment finds me writing or reading. I live in the north west of England with my husband who thinks that I live in two worlds. The real world and in the world in my head...he probably has a point!
