Jaden Matthews has never known his father or his father's family, but he's about to get a crash course on having siblings. With the recent passing of his grandmother, he's discovered he has three half-brothers and part ownership of a gym. In Serenity, Florida. His life in New York has hit a rocky road, so maybe this is the vacation he needs to get things back on track.

Chase Michaels lost his future in a car crash almost ten years ago, and he's made a new one for himself in Serenity. One that doesn't include getting emotionally involved with people who are just passing through. But Jaden makes his common sense flee and his gut react. He's got one month with the man who made him believe in taking a chance.

Jaden lost his job and his husband in the same awful swipe of fate. After finding out his grandmother left him a part of her house and business in Serenity, along with the brothers he didn’t even know existed, he decides to visit and decide what he’ll do with it all. He’s been content with not rocking the boat and just doing what his mother suggested up until then, but when he gets to know his brothers and Chase, he realizes there might be something more for him.

Jaden was a very sweet, unassuming guy. I just loved how well he fit with his brothers and Chase. That’s not to say there weren’t some moments in which I just wanted to shake him up a bit and make him see what was in front of him. Despite being 35 years and having been married 9 of those to a cheating jerk, he was fairly innocent, perhaps because he’d been mostly living for his mother and not really for him. It was great to see him actually think of himself for once and stand up for what he really wanted. I adored Chase! He was awesome and just perfect for Jaden. Even with the tragic accident that cut short his football career, he just changed paths and made a life for himself. I loved that he was willing to take a chance with Jaden and live for the moment, despite knowing that he could be hurt in the end. Seeing their relationship deepen was awesome. They had amazing chemistry and just complemented each other.

I loved Jaden’s brothers, especially Phoenix, and really, really wouldn’t mind reading more books in this ‘verse. I didn’t quite like Jaden’s mom, she seemed cold as a fish.

This was such a delightful read! It’s fun, not overly angsty, with an absolutely lovable cast of characters that I just wanted to meet. Definitely a must-read!

Jaden's neat, orderly life is undergoing a lot of change. He was laid off from his job, where he had expected a promotion; his husband left him to fully support his boyfriend, who Jaden had no idea existed; he's living with him mom again; and just been told that the grandmother he didn't know died and left him and any siblings he has everything she owned. He didn't even know he had siblings, as he's never met his father. Jaden's mom pushes him to go to FL to get his inheritance. Jaden is a city boy and has no interest in spending any time in a small town, but he goes with no plans to linger. But Serenity and his brothers are nothing like he expected. Instead of rushing out of town, he's overwhelmed by his three brothers who want a relationship, intrigued by the grandmother he never met, and lusting over the swoon worthy Chase.

When Chase's plans for a bigger life ended due to a car crash, he moved to Serenity and made a new life. He teaches yoga, owns a smoothie shop, hangs out with his best friends (Jaden's brothers), and enjoys the slow pace of the community that has become his home. Until Jaden's arrival, Chase was the only gay man in town. He feels a connection with Jaden, and can see the struggle he's undergoing to adjust to life Serenity, and the realization that maybe NY is not home after all.

Have you ever tried to write a review for a book you really like, and came up blank? That's what happened to me with this one! I really liked Chase, and all Jaden's brothers from the initial introduction. It was harder getting to know Jaden, only because his Type A personality was not shining. Once Jaden was able to relax, and when he shared about his life in the city and life with his mother, it becomes so much easier to understand and like Jaden and have empathy for the life he lived and how he was raised. I loved Jaden's brothers, who were good men creating a family together. And the characters of Serenity just added to the enjoyability of this story! I absolutely loved Jaden getting closure on old parts of his life before moving on to his new life. Though I was concerned with that decision when I didn't know the outcome, I thought it was really well done and allowed him to fully move on.

I've read several books by this author, and I enjoy each one more than the previous one. I think her writing and storytelling just keeps getting better. She does a wonderful job of writing interesting characters, but more importantly, writing interesting secondary characters and families. I would definitely recommend reading this book!
