Chase Payne is a walking contradiction. He's the most powerful psychic in the Community, but the least respected. He's the son of the Community's founder, but with his tattoo sleeves and abrasive attitude, he's nothing like his charismatic family. No one knows what to make of him, which is how he wound up locked in a cell on the Farm yet again. But this time, the only man he's ever loved is there too.
Elijah Estrella was used to being the sassy sidekick who fooled around with Chase for fun. But that was before he realized the Community wasn't the haven he'd believed in and Chase was the only person who'd ever truly tried to protect him. Now they're surrounded by people who want to turn them against their friends, and the only way out is to pretend the brainwashing works.
With Chase playing the role of a tyrant's second-in-command, and Elijah acting like Chase's mindless sex toy, they risk everything by plotting a daring escape. In the end, it’s only their psychic abilities, fueled by their growing love for each other, that will allow them to take the Community down once and for all.
Sightlines is book three in the Community series and although each book features a different couple, there is an ongoing storyline, so the books must be read in order.
I have absolutely loved this series and I’ve been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Chase and Elijah’s story and to see what would happen and Mr. Hassell doesn’t disappoint.
Let’s be real, Chase is a real twat, but as I witnessed the torture he has suffered in the past and is still suffering at the hands of the evil scientist, Jasper, my heart broke for him. He has not only suffered great physical pain, but the emotional turmoil of feeling unwanted and unloved by his father, Richard Payne, the leader of the Community, who has not only allowed, but encouraged Jasper’s experimentation. Richard accepted Holden, Chase’s half-brother, as his son and not only showed him love, but praised him as well, while he has ignored and shunned Chase throughout his entire life.
When Chase is sent to work at Evo, a queer psy club in the city, he meets Elijah, a runaway, and although he doesn’t let it show, Elijah is the one person who breaks though the protective wall of armor Chase has built up around himself, but Chase believes Elijah to be in love with Holden. Although he thinks that Elijah will never reciprocate his feelings, when Elijah is brought to the farm, he knows he’ll do anything to protect him from the evil that lurks there, including taking down the leaders of the Community, starting with his father.
I loved watching the love between Chase and Elijah blossom throughout this story. They had amazing chemistry and fit perfectly together. They complimented one another, they were both stubborn and persistent and when one would begin to give up the other was there to give them the nudge forward they needed to continue on.
I loved getting to revisit and catch up with Sixtus and Holden, but especially Nate and Trent, my favorite couple in the series.
This series has been a wild and exciting ride. The world Santino Hassell has built is interesting and intriguing and this installment was no exception. This was an amazing conclusion to the Community trilogy: Fast-paced, exciting and action-packed, well-written and full of excitement, romance, love and some smoking hot sex and although I’m glad to see the happy endings handed out, I’m sad to say goodbye to these guys.
The story is captivating and it kept me turning the pages to see how it would all end. Santino did a wonderful job at neatly wrapping up all the storylines. I can’t recommend this series enough, go one-click it! You won’t regret it, I promise!

About The Community Series
Secrets and lies have twisted an underground community founded by psychics escaping persecution. Blackmail, sex, and social climbing in the name of power has created an irreparable rift.
In the eyes of the founders, there are two sides: loyalists and everyone else. Surely no one would emerge from their tightly woven webs. And they certainly wouldn’t sow the seeds of rebellion within the heart of the Community’s only queer night club.
Now an outcast, a scion, and a runaway are leading a revolution to save not only the men they love, but the entire Community.
