Former stepbrothers find Christmas romance under the tree.

After years alone, Daniel Diaz is finally ready to shake up his orderly, solitary life. He's about to leave for a cozy Christmas getaway with his new man when he gets the call from the ER that his former stepbrother has been admitted with a concussion and a broken hand—and Cole put him down as his emergency contact. Why the hell would he do that? Daniel barely knows the guy. After all, their parents' marriage lasted less than a year and it was a decade ago!

But Cole has no one else to look after him and strict doctor's orders not to be left alone. So fine, Daniel will bring him along on vacation to make sure he doesn't starve or fall into a coma. This is supposed to be Daniel's chance to explore romance again after locking down his feelings for too long—except it turns out his could-be boyfriend is more interested in partying and being an obnoxious jerk. Daniel sends him packing, and now he's stuck with a virtual stranger in an isolated mountain cabin.

Cole Smith crushed hard on cranky Daniel when they were teenagers. Alone with him in a romantic winter wonderland, those feelings roar back to life. Glimpsing the caring, vulnerable man under Daniel's frosty shell, he yearns to get closer. Christmas is a time for surprises, and Daniel and Cole discover a scorching connection that just might melt their hearts.

This fluffy gay Christmas romance from Keira Andrews features former stepbrothers reconnecting as adults, sexy hot-tub shenanigans, cuddling by the fire, and of course a happy ending.

4.5 Stars!

Daniel and Cole were step brothers for a short time when Daniel’s mother married Cole’s father, but the two were never really close and haven’t seen each other in close to ten years, so when Daniel receives a phone call telling him a Nicholas Smith, who has Daniel listed as his in case of emergency contact, has been injured and taken to the hospital, Daniel has no clue who the person is at first, but once he remembers Cole, his conscience won’t let him leave for his Christmas vacation until he at least stops by the hospital to check on him.

Once he arrives at the hospital, Daniel finds Cole has a broken hand, as well as a concussion and the hospital won’t let him leave on his own without supervision for a few days, so Daniel decides Cole will be spending his Christmas with him, and his maybe boyfriend Justin, at the chalet Daniel has rented for the week.

When they get to the chalet Daniel discovers Justin has invited some of their workmates, and well, frankly, that Justin is just not the person for him, so after asking everyone to leave, Daniel and Cole are left to spend the week alone getting reacquainted with one another.

You just know you can’t go wrong with a Keira Andrews read and this holiday novella was no exception. I love second chances romances and this was a sweet one. I adored Cole, but wasn’t all that fond of Daniel at first. Daniel is rather uptight and a bit proper, but as the story progresses and he and Cole explore their feelings for each other, he loosens up tremendously and becomes a much more likable character.

Together Daniel and Cole had amazing chemistry that sizzled.

This was a well-written and very enjoyable holiday read filled with lots of love, family and passion. I couldn’t put it down once I started and I can’t recommend it enough!
