From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

Growing up, the three of us were friends.
He was the nerd.
I was the playboy.
She was the beauty.

Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits.
He lied.

I went off to college, and he got the girl.
Amber never knew how I felt.
They were together for years—before he broke her heart.

Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch.
When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

Still reeling from her breakup, she’d sworn off men.
One night, I opened her computer to find the shock of my life. She’d hesitantly contacted a male escort company. Afraid to date and get her heart broken again, she was looking for sex with no strings.
Every emotion imaginable ran through me: protectiveness, jealousy—curiosity.
Amber had chosen Gentleman Number Nine and sent him a message.
She opened up to him, confessing, among other things, her physical attraction to her friend—me. But she considered me off-limits—and she thought I was a manwhore. (Ironic, considering the circumstances.)

Eventually, she set up a date to meet Gentleman Nine at a hotel.
When she showed up several nights later to meet him, she got the surprise of her life to see me standing there—with an offer I hoped she wouldn’t refuse.

This is an intimate autobiography not fiction.

About The Loss of Self: My path of Self-Destruction to the point of total humiliation

A very private and intimate Autobiography of the last seven years, my fall from “Grace,” as I like to describe it.
Death, Sex, lots of absurd, artificial
An appalling Break-up, which was the Catalyst to it all.chemed-Sex.
H.I.V., Bankruptcy, Almost-Suicide, Meth and so much more!
I lost faith in humanity
I lost myself.
I always had rules, goals and boundaries which I lived by endearingly, but after the Death of my beloved Grandmother, I started a Path of Self-Destruction to the point of total shame.
Do you know what it feels like to be standing on the Edge of a building, you have nothing to lose, and the only thing that keeps you from jumping is to return to an abusive Boyfriend who has nothing else to offer you, but to lie to you, to control you and to take the next puff of the Meth pipe!
Would you go back?
I did!
Back to the gay Lifestyle I never asked for.
To a Lifestyle where I ended up having Sex for Cash, me of all people?
Why, one must wonder, why?
I kept on punishing myself.
I accepted that my own boyfriend brought guys home and had sex with them in front of my face, looking me straight in the eyes.
And his eyes were saying:
“ I'm going to break you, and you will accept everything I am going to give you ”, and I did with little resistance.
I enforced his behaviour by overeating and I lost my body.
Why did I let this happen?
What is my problem?
Why on earth would I who was successful in business and Life, always had monogamous, and highly Moral Relationships accept all this?
After 44 years on this earth, I finally discovered why!
My “Core Problem” wasn't the people I met, they were merely clones that I choose very distinctively yet totally unaware.
I recreated the worst of all relationships, the one I never had,
The one I never understood.
The relationship between my mother and myself!
It's about the fact that she never fought for me, she never placed me first, and that behaviour made me feel not worthy, not good enough.
She never chose me!
But you have to fight and understand your "Core Problem" and deal with it, as harshly and honestly as you can!
It will hurt, and sacrifices will have to be made, but the pain isn't anything compared to the pain that you will encounter if you don't!

A Preacher’s Son by Lisa Henry & JA Rock
Release date: January 16, 2018

About the book:

Jason Banning is a wreck. His leg’s been blown to hell in Afghanistan, his boyfriend just left him and took the dog, and now he’s back in his hometown of Pinehurst, Washington, a place that holds nothing but wretched memories…and Nathan Tull. Nathan Tull, whose life Jason ruined. Nathan Tull, who will never believe Jason did what he did for a greater good. Nathan Tull, whose reverend father runs the gay conversion therapy camp that Jason once sought to bring down—at any cost.

Nathan Tull is trying to live a quiet life. Four years ago, when Nate was a prospective student visiting UW, his world collapsed when senior Jason Banning slept with him, filmed it, and put the footage online. A painful public outing and a crisis of faith later, Nate has finally begun to heal. Cured of the “phantoms” that plagued him for years, he now has a girlfriend, a counselor job at his dad’s camp, and the constant, loving support of his father. But when he learns Jason is back in town, his carefully constructed identity begins to crumble.

As desperate to reconcile his love for God with his attraction to men as Jason is to make sense of the damage he’s done, Nate finds himself walking a dangerous line. On one side lies the righteous life he committed himself to in the wake of his public humiliation. On the other is the sin he committed with Jason Banning, and the phantoms that won’t let him be. But is there a path that can bridge those two worlds—where his faith and his identity as a gay man aren’t mutually exclusive? And can he walk that path with the man who betrayed him?

Virtual Book Tour ~ Tribute Act (Porthkennack series #8) by Joanna Chambers (Guest Post + Reviews + Giveaway)

Virtual Book Tour ~ Tribute Act (Porthkennack series #8) by Joanna Chambers (Guest Post + Giveaway)

Hello, book lovers! I’m Joanna Chambers and this is the blog tour for Tribute Act, my new romance which is book #8 in the Riptide's Cornwall-set Porthkennack series. I’ll be sharing thoughts on writing my first full length contemporary, writing Christmas songs as an extreme form of authorly procrastination and my love of men with sad eyes. Please join me for a chance to win a copy of the book and a $25 Riptide gift card!

The Christmas season might be well and truly over but it comes up again in my January release, Tribute Act. The book features a Christmas song, the lyrics of which are peppered throughout the story, and which is ultimately performed by Mack, one of the heroes, in a climactic scene.
I seem to be driven to be write about the festive season. As well as publishing a number of explicitly Christmas-themed stories over the last few years, Christmas features significantly in several of my other books. So, what's the big draw?
Well, for a writer, there’s a lot to go at. First, you’ve got the ancient midwinter festival traditions (Saturnalia, Lord of Misrule) that turn the natural order on its head, enabling things to be said and done that wouldn’t normally happen. Then you’ve got the contrast of the traditional moral values Christmas is supposed to represent with the vast consumerism of modern day Christmases. Then you’ve got the family aspect—Christmas is a brilliant setting against which to explore what a family really is—some of my favourite Christmas stories are about found families. But more than any of that, I think there is a sort of mood around the holiday setting—in the pause—that naturally leads to self-reflection. It’s a time at which the world is briefly suspended, and a character might look at their life a little closer, find redemption, make a long-overdue apology, or maybe tell someone they love them.
What’s your favourite Christmas story?

Blurb:
A sexy new stand-alone comedy.

Ash:
I still don't know how it happened. One minute I was arguing with my arrogant competitor--our usual trash-talk over who deserves the larger commission. But somehow I went from throwing down to kneeling down...
It can never happen again. I don't even like Braht. He's too slick. He's a manipulating mansplaining party boy in preppy clothes.
So why can't I get him out of my head?

Braht:
There are two things I know without question. One: Ash and I are destined for each other. Two: never trust a man with a unibrow.
Ash is my missing my piece. She's the sweet cream to my gourmet espresso. And nothing gets me going faster than her contempt for me. They don't call her the Ashkicker for nothing.
Eventually I'll win her over...if my past doesn't ruin everything first.
