Throwback Thursday Review ~ Insight by Santino Hassell ~ (Giveaway)

Blurb:

Growing up the outcast in an infamous family of psychics, Nate Black never learned how to control his empath abilities. Then after five years without contact, his estranged twin turns up dead in New York City. The claim of suicide doesn’t ring true, especially when a mysterious vision tells Nate it was murder. Now his long-hated gift is his only tool to investigate.

Hitching from his tiny Texas town, Nate is picked up by Trent, a gorgeous engineer who thrives on sarcasm and skepticism. The heat that sparks between them is instant and intense, and Nate ends up trusting Trent with his secrets—something he’s never done before. But once they arrive in the city, the secrets multiply when Nate discovers an underground supernatural community, more missing psychics, and frightening information about his own talent.

Nate is left questioning his connection with Trent. Are their feelings real, or are they being propelled by abilities Nate didn’t realize he had? His fear of his power grows, but Nate must overcome it to find his brother’s killer and trust himself with Trent’s heart.

5 ++++ Stars!!

Omfg!! This book was amazing. Really, it was beyond amazing. After Nate receives a vision of his estranged twin brother's death, he decides he needs to visit New York and see if he can discover what really happened to Theo and who murdered him. Since his car was recently stolen, he chooses to use his thumb to get himself across the country. Trent rescues him from the side of the road and offers him a ride. As the two men make their way from Texas to New York City, the attraction they feel for one another builds. The further they get from Texas, the closer they get to one another.

I loved Nate and Trent. From the moment they met their chemistry was electric and when they finally give into the attraction it was explosive and hot. I loved getting to ride along with them from Texas to New Orleans and then on to their destination city, New York.

When they arrive in NYC, the real excitement begins. Hassell weaves an intriguing and entertaining story that was riveting and held me captive from the moment I picked this book up. This story and this couple were just complete perfection. It had mystery, suspense and romance. I absolutely couldn't put it down and can't wait to read Holden's story and see where the mystery will lead us next. I hope to get to see a lot of Nate and Trent in the next story, as well. Highly recommended!!!

  1. Congrats, and thanks for the good review. Sounds like this a great start to another series. I guess the kind of paranormal I most like are those with special powers, or spirits. Also if there's an additional aspect, like a mystery or a western, or set in the past. - Purple Reader,
